Why be concerned with vibration?
An out of balance prop causes a rotational imbalance which dramatically reduces the life of the engine and its components.
These vibrations also lead to premature wear of the entire airframe, electrical systems, and avionics.
Since these vibrations are transferred through the crankshaft, most cranks under such stress are rejected during engine overhauls. The cost of a new crankshaft can be up to $ 5000.00 U.S dollars.
